How to check pub event details before you go

Listings are useful leads, but the event or venue’s own current channel is the place to confirm the details that affect your visit.

Source rule: treat an old poster, search result or directory entry as a lead. Look for a matching current post or listing from the organiser or venue, then contact that source when anything important remains unclear.

Build a small confirmation record

Save the event name and the exact organiser or venue account you checked.
Record the published day, start information and location without merging details from different posts.
Note when you checked and keep the link or screenshot in case the listing changes.

Check the conditions separately

Ask the first-party source about entry arrangements, booking, ticketing, age access, accessibility, food, seating and any other requirement that matters to your group. Silence on a listing is not confirmation either way.

Check again before travelling

Events can change after a directory captures them. Re-open the organiser or venue channel on the day, particularly when travel or advance payment is involved. If two first-party posts conflict, ask the publisher rather than choosing the version you prefer.
