This notice explains how sesh.ie ("we") collects and uses personal data when you visit sesh.ie. We comply with GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Sesh.ie
Ireland
Contact: hello@sesh.ie

What we collect

Things you give us directly: name (optional) and email if you submit an event or sign up for the newsletter; venue and event details if you submit a sesh.

Things collected automatically: anonymised analytics via Matomo (page views, referring site, approximate country, device type, browser). IP addresses are anonymised before storage. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any cross-site advertising trackers.

Why we collect it

  • Event submissions — to publish the event and contact you if details are unclear. Legal basis: legitimate interest (you initiated contact).
  • Newsletter — to send you the Thursday issue. Legal basis: consent (one-click unsubscribe in every email).
  • Analytics — to understand how the site is used. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

How we share data

Newsletter delivery uses Beehiiv. Otherwise we don't share personal data with third parties beyond what's needed to publish your submitted event publicly.

How long we keep it

  • Event submissions: 24 months, then archived.
  • Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
  • Analytics: 14 months rolling, then aggregated.

Your rights under GDPR

You can ask us to show you what data we hold, correct it, delete it, stop processing it, or export it in a portable format. Email hello@sesh.ie and we'll respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Cookies

See our cookie notice. Short version: Matomo first-party analytics cookie + a localStorage entry to remember your county preference. No advertising trackers.

Sister-site data sharing

sesh.ie is a sister site to pubhub.ie. They share the pub-spine data store (read-only on our side). Your event submissions stay on sesh.ie's server unless you explicitly published to a pubhub.ie pub via the publican-claim flow.

Changes

We update this page when we change how we handle data. Material changes are flagged in the site footer for 30 days.
